I finally was able to watch Mary Shelley, based on the young life of the author of Frankenstein. I've been wanting to see this for some time, as Frankenstein is one of my favorite books. I found the movie enjoyable enough, although the film focuses mostly on Mary's unconventional romantic relationship with Percy Shelley.
For a movie about an author, there are very few scenes showing Mary writing or even struggling with her craft, and we have only the words of other characters that she is talented or even wants to write at all. Except near the end, when she finally does write Frankenstein in a fit that would have NaNoWriMo writers jealous.
